Press: Screw Products, Inc. Holds it Together at National Deck Competition

People’s Choice, Best Vendor Project awarded to decks built with Screw Products, Inc. screws

BALTIMORE, Md. – Making it official that Screw Products, Inc. fasteners help create award-winning decks, this year’s National Deck Competition sponsored by the North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA) recognized two projects built with Screw Products, Inc. screws.

First place in the Vendor Alternative category was awarded to an on-thewater deck at the Conshohocken Rowing Center in Conshohocken, Penn., which is more than 300 feet long and built with NyloDeck composite decking, using Screw Products, Inc. stainless steel screws. The dock is part of a larger construction project erecting a public community center and home and practice facility for the Malvern Preparatory School and the Haverford School rowing teams on the Schuylkill River.

Also earning accolades was a home deck built by Jason Russell, who owns Dr. Decks LLC and specializes in deck-board bending, using Screw Products, Inc. screws exclusively. Garnering third place in the People’s Choice category, the deck features an inset pond with a spillway, LED lighting, and heat-bent AZEK PVC deck planks coupled with heat-modified TimberTech rail kits.

NADRA presented awards to deck projects across the country in 18 different categories at a ceremony held in conjunction with the Remodeling Show, DeckExpo, and JLC LIVE held concurrently in Baltimore in October. The National Deck Competition also served as a capstone event for NADRA’s 10-year anniversary celebration.
